Give me a way to turn the screw, does the noise in my head bother you?

I'm usually not for one for daily posts, but there's a lot I have to get off my chest before Thursday (shortened day, longgggggggg weekend) and I don't update on new comic Wednesdays, so yeah, here's another post

Next couple of weekends- Probably wont be around, as I'll be away this weekend from Friday-Sunday, The 12th/13th is still up in the air, and the 18-20th look pretty booked if things fall into place. I know there hasn't been much to any word on the Ani-Mess picnic as of yet, but it may happen in September post TEE b-day/ The CoPen, but before NYAF.

Wedding status- Alright, here's the deal with invites. Carrie and I looked over the guest list and yeah, people are gonna be upset. Long story short, we can't invite as many friends as we wanted to, so unless family drops out, a lot of people I wanted to invite may not be invite, which sucks balls, but that's life and Carrie and I are looking to have a post wedding party as is. But yeah, unless you and 25 other people want to raise $3,000 bucks so we can add another 25 people to this thing, you're gonna have to deal accordingly. I'm not gonna go into details here, but it seems the only friends guaranteed to be invited are those who are in the wedding party, some long time friends, those who invited us to their weddings, and people named Sean. Hopefully, some family/friends of family will drop out as things gets closer.

Otakon- Costume list first- The definites are
Lockon (Gundam OO)
Bankai Ichigo (BLEACH) ((Amanda may need to borrow ur sword for said costume))
Leon (Kingdom Hearts 2)
And because the potential for an awesome group shoot may happen, and I'm bringing the Gunblade (Or as it has been referred to as in the past, the SEX-Blade) as is, Squall (Final Fantasy 8). A 5th costume may happen, but may not, as there's events I want to go to, specifically a few panels and the GAR Concertgoing down on Friday night.

Rides-As far as I know, we have a 2 car caravan planned, consisting of myself, The Iron Baker Man, Mario, Sean Ewing, Ray and Flippy, as Carrie is riding down with fellow Jeresians. Room for Sean Kelly if he wants a ride I think, but that offer is strictly for the Badguy, as he's in charge of my room.

Room: Team SCIENCE! is in the Holiday Inn, and consisting of myself, Sean Kelly, Sean Ewing, Anna and Carrie. How awesome is this? So awesome.

Team Cyn has 2 room in another hotel, although only one is available for Thursday. Here's who's confirmed and what not
Ray
Flippy
John
Tom
Xais
Byron (Friday-Sun)
Meg (Friday-Sun)
Ray's 2 Friends (Friday-Sunday)

In theory, I think this means there's room for another person or 2. I THINK. Ray does has the right to say "FUCK OFF, WE'RE FULL" after all.

Byron aside, the whole lot of you know Ray's number and such, and I encourage to talk to him about sleeping/payment arrangements, seeing how I'm just the messenger/don't care coz I'm in the hotel with guys named Sean and a pool. Also, last time I check, John and I are going to a concert the Wednesday before Otakon, of the Disturbed variety, meaning no one short of family/Carrie/ppl in my room will be dealt with why I'm getting down with the sickness.

I use to do a little but a little wasn't doing, so I did a little more and more.

Continuing with the notion that June is truely and horrid month, I signed onto newsarama this morning to find out that Mike Turner, one of my favorite comic artists, has passed away last Friay, as he lost his fight to cancer. The dude died at the age of 37, which is far too young, and is a fucking shame, because I can remember the fact that his art, along with Deadpool, Morrison's JLA and most of the Top Cow books in the late 90s kept me in comics while Marvel was sucking a whole bunch. Since the majority of you who are reading this probably don't know who Mike Turner is, let me let a cute little story instead of copy and pasting a Newsarama article.

Summer 2000. Either June or July, I'm not sure. I was working at a Michael's Nursery (of the gardening variety) making a living off of carry bags of dirt, rocks and other heavy gardening things to customer's cars. Kinda sucked, but I got awesome tips every so often, which meant a lot of trips to the comic shop and a 7-11, which was all of 10 minutes away from my store in Staten Island. After picking up a Top Cow book (either Tomb Raider, Witchblade, Fanthom), the dates for a Mike Turner signing touring throughout the US was announced. I was psyched, so the following week, me, Vic and my gf at the time Jen (aka Ditzy McBig Tits) ventured into Manhattan to the relatively new Midtown comics like 2 hours before the signing began. Vic andI waited on line with my art pad and comics, while Jen walked through the store (she wasn't too big into most of my nerd stuffs, further proof that Carrie is the SUPERIOR gf). We talked it up with some of the other nerds on the line, and it was cool seeing a bunch of em bug out over some Final Fantasy fan art I drew (A lot of Turner-influenced Squall, Cloud and Sephiroth pieces), as well as a HUGE pin up of Witchblade I copied off of an ad for said poster. There was a 2 signature limit at Midtown, but when I finally got to meet Mike, he spoke to me a few minutes, signed my stuff and flipped through my art book. It seem pleased what with he saw, and he dug the Sephiroth piece the most, and out of common curiousity, he signed the huge WB piece with the following message "NICE, Great work!". To this day, that piece is framed and currently sitting on my dining room table.

Sorry to bore some of you with that wall of text, but I wanted to get that off of my chest.

Anywho, this past weekend was kinda fuck win. And by kinda I mean severely. TEE! got a ride to Vic's on Friday night from her sissy, and despite several little snafus in the planning department, we had a fun night playing Wii stuffs. Saturday had cameos from John, Amanda, N word John and Jesse, but it was mostly spent witt just TEE as we did lunch at Cinema, a cool little eatery near my office, fabric shopping for Carrie's wedding dress, a trip to Image Anime which ended in me picking up a 45 ultra poseable Yoko (TTGL) for Carrie and the 5th Penny Arcade collection for myself. That night I saw "Get Smart" with my mom and said Carrie, which was pretty solid overall.

Sunday was a rare game hunt day for us @ the Fulton Street mail which kinda fail (Looks like I'm gonna have to drop some serious green if I want a copy of Xenogears), but at least we had a fun time running around downtown Brooklyn. I ended up buying "Guitar Hero: Aerosmith" for the 360, and Carrie and I spent the remainder of our time together playing Tales of the Abyss. Needless to say, if we don't end up doing Yoko and Kamina next year, or if we have extra cash in the cosplay fund, I'm fairly certain ToA cosplay will happen, which is cool, coz there's at least 2 different characters from the game I wouldn't mind cosplaying. That and I'm fairly certain Carrie will dress our first born up as a Cheagle. MIEYU! FIRE!!

Anywho, you want pictures? PICTURES OF animeNEXT? Judy, my favorite lil cosplay photographer, has a whole bunch of pics from aNEXT, ranging from our small but awesome BLEACH army, to some FF7 stuffs as well as Team Bunnies J_J. Good stuff, and yes, you can haz link:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/judithstephens/sets/72157605848345740/

Speaking of links, some of you may remember that painting of Chris Walken building Optimus Prime I linked here several moons ago. Well I found the guy's online gallery, and holy hell, it does get better!
http://www.brandonbird.com/paintings.html

I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired, I used to go to bed so high and wired.

A little Ozzy for the subject title. Iz nice!

I defiently think we need to re-roll June. Just looking back at the past month, seeing how many lows there was versus the high for A LOT of people, I can't help to think this was NOT how EPIC SUMMER 2008 was suppose to start off, especially when MARRIAGE CON 2009 around the corner. Still, not all is lost, as there's a chance that July should be good,
and by law, August cannot be bad what with Otakon, Disturbed and my birthday all going on in the same month. Time will tell on that front.

So what's up? I'm doing better, and did some writing this morning, which felt good. My weekend is fairly Carrie-centric, and should be pretty entertaining if all goes "Just as planned". Next week is gonna be pretty busy too, what with a leaving the company/Nerd Avengers/Carrie coming down all happening next Thursday. The weekend of the 4th looks pretty sweet as well, and hopefully will give me a chance to catch up on some reading/gaming/swimming/seeing "Wall-E". Holy hell do I want to watch the crap out of that tiny bastard.

What have I've been up too otherwise? Haven't watched anything in what seems like forever, although i did pick up the new Futurama flick on Tuesday. It's yet to be watched, but when I do, I would like to watch it with other ppl. Let us also not discuss how far behind I am on Dr. Who and Torchwood. Gamewise, I did beat "The World Ends with You" last week, and I'm probably picking up Guitar Hero: Aerosmith sometime next week b/c I am a faggot. Also hopefully Carrie will beat Crisis Core soon so I can have my game/memory card back and continue with my game.

Reading wise, well sure, let's talk comics shall we?

Brand New Day: When it's good, it's damn good. When it's not so good..ugh. Poor Spidey.

Secret Invasion: Not the most original event yes, especially if you're a BSG fan. But I'm not, and I'm having a lot of fun with the Green-Chins. All the Avenger books are on a roll thanks to this event, despite the stories rarely being about said Avengers. Unless we're talking about The Initative, which has by far my favorite series.

Final Crisis- I'm fairly certain the only person who knows what's going on with this series is Grant Morrision.

Batman R.I.P.- See above. WHY SO CRYPTIC?

Green Latern/ Green Latern Corps/ Booster Gold/ Action Comics- Aka the books that Geoff Johns is writing and have been fucking awesome. Will you look at that?

Warren Ellis- Dk. Sleepless is begining to come across as a boring verision of Transmet. His run on Thunderbolts was pretty fuckwin though, and holy hell, Freak Angels is online and free. HUZZAH!

DMZ- Is a fantastic book, and dammit Sara, return my copy of volume 3.

Manga- Really burnt out from most manga that isn't Fullmetal Alchemist or One Piece. Hellsing pretty much drops like what, once a year? Reborn isn't doing much for me at this point and yeah...like I said, One Piece or GTFO

Indy Books- FUCK YES SCOTT PILGRIM, YOU ARE THE BEST INDY BOOK I'M READING! Aside from that, the 8th volume of Walking Dead just dropped, so that will be bought and Jamie smart is fantastic, despite Ubububu focusing on an actual plot, versus the violence and random noises that was "Bear".

Aside from that, here's some random articles from Kotaku:

Fucking PAX is the new AX-the con I want to go to, but won't anytime soon. BAWWWW
http://kotaku.com/5019938/everyone-and-the-ecto+1-heading-to-pax

Not sure how I feel about Squall's new character design, but yeah, I'll end up cosplaying it sooner or later
http://kotaku.com/5019796/new-dissidia-final-fantasy-screens

How could I not post this?!?!?!!?
http://kotaku.com/5019773/street-fighter-the-movie-the-game-the-making-of-in-pictures

AnimeNEXT: Conquest

Decided to reference cosmic Marvel for the usually pre-con post instead of making a DC event reference, simply because I severly doubt this will be my final aNEXT, seeing how it's local and cheap, much like Jeresy hookers. Anywho, now is the time for me to lay down the laws for aNEXT in a happy little rant.

AnimeNEXT 2008: Deal Accordingly

As of 1:24pm on Thursday June 19th, I DO NOT, repeat, DO NOT know when I'll be arriving at AnimeNEXT, and will not know until tomorrow morning when I arrive at work. The matter is out of my hands, and I like being paid, so I'm at the con whenever work says it's cool for me to leave tomorrow, meaning I should be at said con sometime between 2pm and 6pm, which is the best you're gonna get from me at this point in time. Doesn't matter, Ray should be getting at the hotel between 12-1, and since the rooms are under his name, he's the guy to answer to.

Regardless, I have a gameplan for this weekend. You've seen me post it a million times, it revolves around the 18+ dating game, Uncle Yo, The CoP dinner, 2 panels, and 3 photoshoots. Plus dealer's room time. Aside from that, my time will be devoteed to eating, sleeping, cleaning, Carrie and chilling. There's a shit ton of you at this con that I want to see, and I will do my darnest to chill with you for an extent period of time. I'll probably end up being outside of the convention center both nights, just shooting the shit with whoever's out there I know, enjoying myself.

Which brings me to my next point-I've had a terrible week last week, and this week has been better, but extremely hectic at work. So I don't want to hear it. Spare me your drama, I don't care you dont like cosplayer x wearing costume x, who got screwed over at the masquerade, that I'm talking to cosplayer x, etc. That noise? Fuck it. I'm aiming to have a good time and if you're looking to ruin that for me, then we have a problem. Granted there will be ppl at the con I don't want to talk to, I'm just going to advoid them. I've had drama-free cons before, it's possible, so keep your shit to yourself. I'm already kinda peeved that a friend of mine isn't coming to aNEXT b/c of fucking drama, so I don't need anymore, kapeesh?

As far as drinking goes, yeah I'm going to drink, probably just Saturday, or at least just with the intentions to get wrecked on Saturday. There isn't going to be any room parties going on in either room, what with the Shotzy room being a DRY room, and I'm not hosting a party when we got 7 ppl in there Saturday, especially when one of them is a minor. There are bars in the area, and if I've learned anything from the past, one can drink in public with the help of a soda/gatorade bottle/can. And if you're gonna drink, drink responsibly, as I dont need to be watching your drunk ass do something incredibly stupid or have you keeping my ass up all night with your puking. Also not for nothing, let's try to keep the rooms clean, so that we can have room service come in there and change the sheets, garbage, etc.

That should cover pretty much everything I'm looking foward to animeNEXT A LOT this weekend, and hopefully a good time will come from it and I'll see a whole bunch of awesome people I haven't seen in awhile.

-"Hey, you hear lightning??"

Pikachu go round-round again, WEEEEEE!!!

Those who remember my last entry knew things where far from "all in good" in my "the hood". I can honestly say last week, at least from Monday-Friday night, was kinda fucking terrible for me, with a few hints of win here and there. After a ranting session with Mario, 10 hours of sleep, and some videya games though (Beat PA Adventures, played more REZ/TWEwY). Yummy seafood was eaten on Saturday and Indiana Jone Life was played with The Whitest Kids U Know watched on Saturday. Sunday was funs with Jesse, Amand and N-word John. I'm back on my feet, and I'm set for this week. Which also looks to be crazy and what not, but I'm willing to meet it head on in order to make this weekend extra awesome. This weekend being animeNEXT

Because it's my life, let's review the changes that occurred since my last aNEXT update

The rooms- Team Old Guard has acquired a tall Greg for Saturday night. Possibly Friday, but now, definetly Saturday, which means we'll be saving some cash. Like 5 bucks. As for the Shotzy room, well you lost a guy, BUT, gained one a JJ (mai waifu) for Saturday. You may also acquire one a Mario for Friday night, these things will be discuss with Ray/Shotzy/Mario tonight. Also I'm not sure if I threw this out there before, but I'm fairly certain Cat's masquerade crew is gonna be praticing and what not in her room throughtout the weekend, but I can't see that being too much of an issue. Also there isn't going to be any partying in EITHER rooms, and keep in mind, The Shotzy/Cat room is dry room. The Old Guard quarters with haz booze for it's inhabitants which will probably be drank elsewhere. AGAIN, no parties, guests or whatever, seeing how it's gonna be cramped Saturday night, and if Greg's coming, they'll be swords lying around the joint.

The panels- Sunday is still a go for FF-based fun, with Cyn, Carrie and Greg (I think we're all actually cosplaying this year for the panel), but Mario got a last minute accepetance for his skit panel which I believe is myself, Carrie, Mario and Joel, who felt the urge to delete his LJ and create a new one consisting of shitty poetry and not add me to it. But yeah, we'll be talking about masquerade stuff, which should be fun.

My arrival- I'll know about what time my arrival is come Wednesday/Thursday, nothing that can be done about that. As far as I know, Ray is showing up at the con at 12/1ish on Friday, so yeah, go bug him for he is room king.

The costumes!
Kyon's at 95% I just have to shread some jeans. Which will happen at con. Will be worn all day Friday.
Ichigo should be at 100% come Saturday for T3H BLEACH @rmy, and I'm looking forward to it, as we have at least 6 characters being represented from my room alone.
Zack is go, as Greg is bringing the swords which means we'll good to go post-BLEACH. I assume Jae will have my armor done by aNEXT, b/c she is Jae and she is super reliable.

More aNEXT ramblings come Thursday.

Zetta Crazy.

This week, at best, can be described at a mix bag. Hence the Rabbid icon. Oh sure, he's screaming in pain, but he's a Rabbid, so you're all like "Dawwwwww....BAHHHHHHHHHHH!" and the such.

Anywho, I caught an advance screening of "The Incredible Hulk" on Monday and...
+/- Felt like a really long episode of the old TV show.
- Captain America cameo removed, will end up on DVD.
+ Plenty of fanservice, in jokes, felt like a shared universe movie.
+ Probably the fight scene of the year.
+ Tony Stark appearance.
+ FAR SUPERIOR than the original.

Overall all, it's no Iron Man, but it's not Spider-Man 3. Either way, it's probably a better way to kill time than seeing "The Happening". Killer pollen? Really? REALLLYYY????

Right now, my mental status is questionable. A LOT of bad shit is/has going/gone with a lot of ppl I care for, and I feel kinda bad about it/for them. That and something that may be a problem sometime in the future may go down and I'm not sure if I should get involved, at least this early in the game. I also can afford to get more sleep right about now, because holy hell, I am le tired. Argh. Fucking argh.

Ranting aside, I'm PPB bound this weekend. Carrie, my sister and I are going out with my dad and his wife on Saturday, at the Lobster Shanty, which is quite excellent. Excited I am for this. Sunday is church, and I believe just sitting around the house watching Carrie sew, unless the other NJers have plans involving Tee and what not. IDK at this point.

aNEXT is next week. Let us discuss things shall we?

-The Final Fantasy/ Squeenix panel is confirmed for Sunday @ 12:30, denying me and the panelists to par-take in the chess game it seems. At least I think it does. We'll see.
Anywho, it's me, Carrie, Ray and Greg (I HOPE!) talking about FF, should be solid.

ROOMS: At this point it's this:
Room Old Guard
Carrie/Me
Ray/Flippy
Dylan
Xais

Room Shotzy-21
Paul/Cat
Tom
Kaine
Mark
Mike

With 6 ppl in each room, it comes out to 61 bucks a head for the entire weekend. Money can be paypal to Ray, who's in charge of the rooms @ TearfulCyn@yahoo.com. His cell can be supplied upon request, via AIM. I'm not going to know when I'm showing up at said con yet until next week, so yeah......deal accordingly.

Gameplan:
Friday
Costumes-Kyon (MoHS- Haruhi and the Suzimiya's verision) w/ Carrie, Nikki and Judy
Shoot sometime that late afternoon/evening
18+ dating game-hosting with Mario 11pm.

Saturday:
BLEACH shoot-12pm
FFVII: CC -3pm sound good ladies?
CoP Dinner-post Cat's skit for those of us with badges, I'll send non-badgers out before hand.

Sunday
FF Panel 12:30

My homeslice Uncle Yo is performing at aNEXT as well, so I'll probably check that out. If ppl want to shoot out groups/gatherings, let me know.

It's in the suit that she wears.

Nothing, NOTHING, is more embarassing that walking into the drum section of Sam Ash, and bypassing several or so hardcore metal/rock drummer types and buying a tambourine. A pretty red one at that. Granted it for TEE'S Michuri costume, and not for me, I got a look or 2 when my purchased interrupted a discusion on, I SHIT YOU NOT, cowbells.

IN B4 Chris Walken

Speaking of BoC/Don't Fear the Reaper, my plan for the past weekend carried out well, as a swam, ate, Rock Band'ed and drank, although, suprisingly, didn't get TOO drunk. For the record though, Joe makes a damn fine White Russian, Cyn is a master at making ice cream based-drink and meat that can be feed to oneself via wooden stick (I originally wrote "Is a master of meats" which looked SUPER GAY), and John was a super-fine host, so huzzah for him.

Speaking of Ray, said black guy whom I hang out with alot needs help. Homeboy needs a wig for Tousen of BLEACH fame:
http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w123/renders-mehiel/TousenKaname.png

Obviously, a purple wig with dreads is kinda near impossible to find on the webs, or at least Cosworxs. We're willing to settle on a black wig instead of purple (THANKS MANGA-COP OUT EXCUSE!), so links would be greatly appreciated. Also speaking of things that begin with C and end in P (well it actuallys in a "N" but moving along..) The CoP thread is now properly functioning, so if you want access, Xais/Meg/Flippy/Ray/Jazz/Linwood, it's up and running and all should be set in a day or so. Npt happening tonight, as thanks to Judy, I have HULK-related plans for the evening. Which is something I'm psyched for, because it's free, and secondly, it's the Incredible fucking Hulk. While I'm not expecting Iron Man, I am expecting better than Ang Lee, or that turd of a suspense-horror flick, "The Happening", which HAS to be one of the worse title for a movie I've ever heard.

In gaming news:
-Penny Arcade's game made me wish all turn based RPGs were this solid.
-Ninja Gaiden 2 is violent as fuck, and has a camera system that make me violent as fuck. Will buy in time.
- 2.5 days left in TWeWY. There's some potential for cosplay in this game, but not until I beat it and it gets cooler again. Probably won't end up happening though, thanks to WEDDING $$$. Carrie and I look into Limos and Flowers this weekend. And no John, not the Limosinez or however that's properly incorrectly spelt.

In closing, I REALLY like the new Spidey toon, I just wish Peter Parker would stop looking like Scott Pilgrim. Also, let's not point out how much I'm semi-Ragin I misssed MoCCA/Bryan O Malley this year.

I hates it, it hurts my face.

This weekend's plan revolve around drinking, swimming, Rock Band and BBQing, and call all be done (and encouraged to be done so) while drinking. Needless to say I'm kinda in a good mood.

Other things increasing my good mood!
1) New Disturbed album- While not the BEST album to date, it's fucking solid. "Indestructable" is the lead-off tract, and it's pretty fuck-win, and probably my favorite song on the album. 4 out of the 1st 5 tracks are pretty boss, but the remaining 7 are pretty hit or miss. It's no "10,000 Fists" but it's another good entry from the band, and it's near impossible to top that last album. The band has also developed a nice Metallica-riff to the album, which is nice, seeing how Metallica hasn't used it since "The Black Album". If Coldplay is the new U2, then Disturbed is definetly the new Metallica, and I mean that in a good way.

2) New phone=Got. Since my last phone developed the same problem it's predesscor had, I took a trip over to the Cingular store to pick up a Blackjack 2. Sexy phone isn't very sexy, as it's HUEG, LIKE XBOX, but it's kinda awesome. It also reminds me of the Death-phone (hence the subject). There's a shit-ton of things I need to try to figure how to do (like establish short cuts to call ppl, uploading things, the button that lets me shoot death beams from space), which will be done after I drink my own weight in booze.

3) Carrie. The Cute Pokemon. Native to New Jeresy, Carrie attacks consist of sing, snuggle-wuggle, fury swipes and hyper beam! What's that? You don't have hyper beam? Fuck, then I guess "Cute Noise" is the other one. It's super-effective! Anywho, I see her tonight and that always puts me in the best of moods. TEE!

Anywho, so Obama took the Dem. Nom, which is kinda awesome, seeing how I didn't think he had a snowball's chance in hell this time last year. So it's black guy vs. old guy for the presidency. I'm pulling for black guy at this point.

In closing, I would like to point out that Rhapsody DS is indeed coming out to the DS, which if my memory serves me correct, was a J-rpg/musical for the PS1 in which pancakes where used as a weapon. I'd hate to admit that I'm far more excited for this than I am for Final Fantasy IV, which I'm fairly certain makes me a gay. That or it has to do with the fact that I beat FFIV last year, so maybe it's that. Or I'm gay, and it explains the tendency to cosplay Final Fantasy. Then again, I <3 boobs and Zack is all kinds of awesome. So I'm guess that makes me...Bi. Wow, what an odd little rant, I should try to sleep more.....maybe....

Klok-blocked

FUCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm declaring a Jihad on Ticketmaster.com. APPARENTLY, Ticketmaster cannont afford to hire a strung-out college grad to UPDATE THEIR FUCKING WEBSITE WHEN CONCERTS SELL OUT IN UNDER A WEEK WHEN TICKETS ARE ANNOUNCED!! WTF.

Long story short- went to order tickets for the Dethconcert, tickmaster was unable to find them or some junk, so I walked over to Nokia on my lunch break to find out said show is sold out. Granted this is more than just Ticketmaster's fault, I'm placing the blame entirely on them so that the people who would have gone won't blame themselves/each other/ me. RAGE RAGE RAGE!!!

HOWEVER, I do have Disturbed's "Invincible" sitting in my bag, waiting to emerge from it's plastic and paper prision. Judging from the art and the lyircs, the band isn't fucking around, which is something I expect from Disturbed. Hopefully this ends is METAL MAN TEARS!

Need to counter missing STP and now Dethklok with an awesome concert aka NOT NIGHTWISH OR MCCHRIS AGAIN. Disturbed's touring, and there's a show the Wednesday before Otakon in LI, which I'm off for, and it looks pretty boss, so John, say the word and the tickets are so ordered.

It's 3am, she won't put out, let's make out with her friends, make out with her friend's friends.

So yeah, JenCon was utterly fantastic and exactly what the doctor ordered.

Let's establish a little prologue here shall we? A female friend of mine, who will not be named, has been the center of a drama shitstorm thanks to the new friends she acquired as of late, amongst others things it seems. It's sad that she won't put 2 and 2 together and figure out where all the new bullshit comes from, but she friended this new circle in the first place, so I shouldn't expect it happening anytime soon. Granted it sucks and it's kinda left me with a jaded look towards the general cosplay populace, she's still an awesome person deep down, so I can't ditch her, but like i said, it made me question my stance with this community a few times.

HOWEVER, this weekend easily resolved this. There's a number of people I have to thank for this. First being Jen, who threw and awesome party, with awesome ppl and just made me awesome. Then 2nd would be Ray, who's antics help me meet said Jen back at Katsucon 2004, so obviously some praise needs to be pointed out there. Finally, John's been a hell of a friend as of late, and spending roughly 14 hours driving us around this weekend only proved that he is made of win, awesome, and about 50 Slim Jims.

But yeah, I got to take in some sights, enjoy a hot tube, bbq and copious amounts of Rock Band AND Rock Star, which is Rock Band, only you're drunk. I believe Adam of the DJ Ranma variety was the one who coined that term, so there's his credit for that. But yeah, to keep the details short and to the point, awesome weekend was awesome, and that makes for a happy CHris.

If that wasn't enough, I've been talking to a bunch of ppl I haven't spoken to in awhile, and it has me excited about the next couple of months. Granted the Nerd Avengers and the C.o.P. (who are now a on members-only status on Cos.com, AWESOME!) are awesome, and will forever be awesome it seems, there's been a number of people who I don't get to see very much that I've been talking to online lately, and it's been great. With this being my last big con year, plotting with various ppls for this upcoming aNEXT and probably my last Otakon for the near future has me excited, and I'm gonna do my damnest to hang out with as many ppl as possibly for both cons. After all, every con post BaaF 2001 (sans NYCC, sorry but that con is SOOO relevant to my interests!) has pretty much been an expensive excuse to hang out with great people in silly costumes, so I'm looking to go all out this summer/fall.

On a final note, new Disturbed drops tomorrow, and John, Sean Kelly, Tom, I'm ordering the Dethklok tickets tonight.

EDIT: THIS IS A LOT MORE AWESOME THAN IT SHOULD BE!
http://www.toplessrobot.com/2008/06/dragonball_zs_goku_and_one_pieces_luffy_exchange_f.php#comments

WITH CHARLES!

As I said on the CoP thread last night on Coscom, The Stampede, myself and John Baker have a new inside joke that really doesn't make sense unless you were there for it. Just wanted to give you jerks the head's up, as I'll be seeing the lot of you over the course of the next couple of weeks, and it's bound to come up a least several times, especially if alcohol is involved. The gag will not be explained, for it is drama-material to an extent, but lord, looking at my Rabbid icon and think it's screaming "WITH CHARLES, BAHHHH" makes me lol.

So yeah, things!
- Epic road trip to PA is 2nite, and I for one am excited. Iron Baker Man, music wise, I'm thinking some Disturbed, Sublime, Nightwish, Wu Tang, STP, Dethklok and Green Day for some traveling music, because I've fallen in love with "Ten Thousand Fists" as an album again, and I figured some actual rap is a nice change of pace from the Nerdcore I'm always packing. Not to mention "Invincible" drops next week, so yeah, exciting music time is exciting. Speaking of music I should buy, I also need to pick up mcchris' latest "mcchris is dead", which is sold out of mcchris.com. Would like to pick that up before NYAF.

-Speaking of the Dethklok, I'm probably ordering tickets for the NYC Stop of the Deth Tour, which is Wednesday, June 25th. I forgot who said was definetly in, but I'm fairly certain it was John, Xais, Tom, Sean the Stampede, and Sean Ewing. PLZ 2 B reconfirming this by Monday ppls. It's 25 a head b4 taxes, so expect to drop around 30 bucks. It's Chimera, Soilwork and of course, Dethklok. Also it's a limit of 8 ppl per order. Keep that in mind.

-aNEXT
-FF Panel is approved, which I think got sped up due to panel senority/ Adam (not of the Ranma type) knowing I'm a jerk and a a half to deal with when I don't get my way. For those of you who haven't heard anything yet, I would continue to prep for ur panels, as they've gone on the record for saying that none of the panels have been shot down yet.
It's most likely gonna be Sunday @ 1pm, so if u wanna swing buy and talk FF with Carrie, Tall Greg, Ray Mountain and myself, feel free to do so.

-Cosplay remains as Kyon on Friday, Ichigo and Zack on Saturday. While details are light at this point in time, Mario and I will more than likely end up hosting the 18+ dating game on Friday night (not as Roy mind you, only things involving AP's Ed or Jeni's Riza mean I Mustang it up) which if any of you remember the one at mangaNEXT, it should be a riot. Jeni and I managed to play off each other well at mNEXT (with thanks to Anita, Judy, Greg, Ray and Jae), but Mario and I are already plotting, so expect some serious LULZ. That and we'll more than likely have a Carrie/Judy dressed as Michuri and Haruhi at one point or another during the game, so there's some win potential right there. But yeah, I'm once again really excited about aNEXT again.

Moving along...
Games- I'm stuck on the Rank 2 boss "Bad girl" in No More Heroes, who's ability to ruin my health with gimps is pretty amazing. DS wise, I should be playing more "The World Ends with You", as I have only 4 more days to go until I beat the game (LOL Beat). In Non-Nintendo news, I need to make time to finish the Penny Arcade game, as well as REZ, which the "trace vibrator" controller makes said game EXTRA naughty. Ninja Gaiden 2 drops next week, which I'm still kinda on the fence about, seeing how I've been reading a lot of mixed reviews about said game, and the whole "Game Crazy" sale @ Gamestop starts on Sunday, so I may be able to get more bang for my buck that way.

Music- Fucking Disturbed, taking over my playlists as of late.

Manga/Reading in general- Need to do more once The world ends with you is beaten and wait until Carrie's done with Crisis Core.

Actually what I need to do is get back to work. Which I will. Right now.

THATS WHEN THINGS GOT OUT OF HAND!

I have Sublime's "Date Rape" stuck in my head. For real's.

Also, finally (no pun intended), someone combined my love of booze with my love of Final Fantasy!
http://scrollbar.dk/events/20080509.Final.Fantasy.Night/

So yeah, GREAT weekend was GREAT! Allow me to recap, as is the norm! After I point out something that was quite my fault. Morgan/Joe, the Xbox 360 was a joint gift from me, TEE!, John and Xais-Meg. I picked up the card prior to the rest of the gift, that's why only TEE and me's name is on it. MY BAD, sorry gents and gals.

Thursday
-Worth noting that SWIM occurred, and that I d/led "Rez HD" and "Penny Arcade Adventures"
for the ECK-BAWXs, both are pretty solid and worth my cash monies.

Friday
-Out of work early occurred, so I ventured out to Long Island (is longgggg) to chill with CCJae. We started some work on Zack armor, but mostly goofed around and plotted con-based fun. Drew was seen briefly before I went home, which I did obviously.

Also worth noting that a few of us are placing an order with Cypherous Wigs (for their wigs and awesome, and they has OO wigs) and if you want in, let me or Jae know ASAP. Actually let Jae know if you know her, for she's the one placing the order, and I'll just end up referring you to her!

Saturday
-I met up with the Carrie-kitty in the city for fabric shopping. My Kyon material was got, and was stupid expensive, so it made me kinda butthurt. Carrie countered feelings by buying me yum yums at Kinokunya's and all was good in the world. We eventually met up with Xais and Tom and went on a little adventure (including buying some CDs like Sublime's and Green Day's Best of, and Wu Tang's "Enter the Wu-Tang"), and eventually crashed a party where Sean Kelly got all sorts of shit-faced. Erik and Kelly also made an apperance, and epic DC Comics costumed stuff was plotted, which may be relevant to Crissy/Marv's interest, if we can get it up and running by Halloween/NYC.

Sunday
-Was supposed to be spent snuggling and watching Gundam 00, but it FAR to nice out to stay inside, and since we didn't have any specific plans for the day, we spent 3 hours walking around, exploring Brooklyn and having an awesome time just walking, talking and window shopping. It's scary how creative Carrie is, and how much she "Gets" me, which is good, seeing how we're all engaged and stuff. But still. she's awesome, which is something I just need to point out again and again.
The night was spent taking my mom and TEE! out for dinner at the awesome place across the street from John's, watching moar Drawn Together, and doing nerd couple things, which I'll lead to your collective imaginations to figure out.

Monday
-Headed into Woodbridge, hung out with Jesse, Amanda and N-word John, Hit up a mall/ a few stores, where I picked up hipster scum Jeans for Kyon, and what not. We played some Brawl (we being Jesse and I) and why I think he took more matches than me, there were a lot of close calls. We had Mcdonald's for dinner, drove Carrie back to PPB, and I took the train home from Woodbridge, where after left by myself, a funny little incident happend- I'm sitting there, minding my own business and playing "The World Ends With You." and some drunk old dude smoking a cigar sits across from me in the booth. About 20 minutes or so go buy, when said drunk say "Hey pal, do yourself a favor and put your sunglasses back on", which I believe was some sort of insult, judging by his tone. I responded with "Do me a favor, and fuck off and die." which pretty much ended our exchange.

Anywho, that's the recap. Aside from my XB360 downloads, I also played more "No More Heroes" and "TWEwY", which shall be discussed more in depth next post now that I've almost beaten both. Also, as far as aNEXT panels goes, still haven't heard from em, and we've taken it to the forums. Check it out here:
http://animenext.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6713&sid=d71cbaf87283c4c32ae28ec5aa56af90

EDIT: Relevant to John, Mario and possibly Ken's interest.
http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/23/hideo-kojima-signing-mgs-4-at-virgin-in-times-square-june-11/

10 minute rant face

Big ol' nerd post starting in 3,2,1...

Dear animooNEXT,
FUCKY YOU
-CHris

I seriously don't remember if dealing with aNEXT panel ppls was always this retarded, but regardless, it's retarded. I send out yet another email to the panel chair, and yet to hear ANYTHING from them. I'm not the only one involved, so if those who also are being screwed over plan wise want to in on what I have planned to GET SOME FUCKING RESULTS, let me know. If not, my plans will just involve drinking and cosplaying, as per usual.

Dear Otakon,
VHUT?
-CHris

On one hand, Project JAM's at Otakon, and that's looking to be ballin, and the CoPanel may happen. ON THE OTHER, the new weapons policy kinds grinds my gears. Having no airsofts make sense, although it does shit on my Chris Redfield costume as little, but this nonense about no props over 6'6"??? WTF, HAS NO ONE OM STAFF PLAYED ANY FINAL FANTASIES? Anything Nomura designed starts at 6' for crying on loud, and while the Sex/Gunblade is safe, that means no sword fun for me with Zack :(. I guess this just means more time as stupid-sexy-Lockon.....

Ranting aside, Otakon news:

-This isn't anything againist in or in charge of said rooms, but Carrie and I are no longer in the Team Cyn room for Otakon. Looking at out opitions, we've decided to room with Sean Kelly over at the Holiday Inn from Thursday to Saturday, which will cost us a little more, but having 4 ppl in the room for a few days is kinda worth the cash. I'll help manage the other rooms, but as far as money collection, keys, and what not, you bitches are on your own. Also, if my memory serves me correct, since the 2nd room is available until Friday, ppl are going to need to find crash space for Thursday. Since the room numbers aren't definitive yet, I know Ray will have a spot or 2 opened in his room for Thursday, and I think Team Pig-Bauld can take someone in as well, floorwise.

-Don't come looking for a ride from Team Iron-Spider, the car's full as is, on a need to know basis.

-Costumes- Friday is Ichigo, Chris and Squall, Saturday is Zack and Lockon, as I'm on the fence about KH things. Also, I want an epic FF8 shoot to match our potentially awesome BLEACH and FF7 things, I know Cat's in a Selphie, I would like more ppl involved so it's just not a repeat of mangaNEXT 2007. Anywho know the best way to contact PixieKitty/NeonGenocide?

-Drink will happen. OH GOD HOW IT WILL HAPPEN.

Weekends news, no tentative plans, but some plans regardless. Just to let any curious parties know.

Interstate Love Slap

I'm fairly certain all of 3 ppl will get the reference, and 1 of them doesn't read my LJ that often.

We recap high, no lie, you know it....BALLIN'!! Cut me some slack ppl, I'm trying to use hippity hop to get "Dancing Queen" out of my head.

Friday:
-Shitty day was shitty weather-wise, but holy hell, deadlines were met, b/c I am incredible like that. Post work, I actually went out to the bar with some of the guys from work, which was a nice change of pace, and the Gusiness I shotgunned b4 leaving made the train ride home all that much fun. I sobered up in time for Carrie's arrival, and there was pizza to eat and Chowder/Sarah Jane/Dr. Who/ Blades of Glory to watch. Then some Drawn Together, which was trauma-tastic as per usual.

Saturday:
-Got up, got haircut and Jorgan wedding gift, and it was city time! John joined TEE! and me, and Sara's Carrie-maded Weighted Companion Cube to the Isle of Manhattan. Said cube was given to Sara and Judy, and I was a sweetie and picked up a shiney new Michuri figure for Carrie, with assault rifle, various signs, a mic and squish boobs. Bless those kooky Japanese! Anywho, fabric was got, and now that we were joined by Sean Ewing and eventually a Mario, we headed over to the "Super Hero and Fashion" show over at the Met. Gotta say, while it was cool to see some of the movie costumes on display (especially the Mark 2 Iron Man), the fashion aspect kinda sucked. Luckily, the museum had a KICK ASS weapon's gallery, and and awesome Egyptian wing. So the trip was saved. TEE! and me eventually made it to Staten Island, where we partied/bbqed at Vic's with Xais, Meg, Jesse, N-word John and Tom. And Pat "Whore for games-clerk" Fair. I drank more than I should have, and kinda sparred with Vic, which was dumb looking back at it.

Sunday:
I'm fairly certain I did some stuff in the morning, but today was the Jorgan wedding day, which is something I said I was excited about like 100000 times. John didn't get his car back from Marcie until like 10 minutes to 3pm, and traffic/weather ensured that we would go on to miss the 20 minute Church ceremony. While I'm not terrible pissed about that, I am dissapointed that I missed it, as are the other I imagine. I killed some time with the other nerds in attendance (Ben, Anna, Judy, Sara, Jesse, Xais, Meg, Nicole Cubed) before we hit up the cocktail hour/ reception. Yes, they're seperate events in my mind, b/c the food during the hour was OHNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOM delicious, where the dinner was not so much. But yeah, there was drinking, dancing and general tomfoolery, and to quote Anna "I'm glad the one guy who ended up with his shirt off wasn't in our circle of friends." IAWTC. We ended up leaving around 11pm, and finally going to bed around 1ish.

Monday:
Tee and I slept in, so Iron Man did not happen. Cupcakes and Chinese food did. Pretty relaxing day actually, with many videya games played. Good sexy times no?

General musings and points of interest:
- The Sci-Fi channel is reporting that Gurren Laggan is gonna end up on their ani-Monday block come July. This is confusing to me, and we'll see how this plays out (check out animenewsnetwork.com as well as toplessrobot.com)
- The next wedding I'll be attending will probably be mine. WEIRDDDDD!!!
- Gonna strangle the head of panels for aNEXT, with their mutant power of not telling me what the fuck is going on with panels.
- Speaking of aNEXT, Jae, are we set for Friday night this week? I get out of work at 1pm on Friday, which is hawt, and I would like to know if I'm LI bound for Friday?
- This weekend's plan are still up in the air, but I know fabric shopping is go for Saturday. Adam/Kaine, is ur bday thinging happening at all this weekend?

Next post will be chocked full of cos-crap discussion, including Otakon's new weapon policy, which makes me B'AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.

I can haz pierced heavenz

Hooray for imported good. Much cash has been blown on more needless crap, as Revotech Gurren Laggan haz been got (props to Senior Bueno for picking that up for me earlier today), as well as chibi-Kamina phone charm, and a TTGL business card holder. And the 50 bucks I blew on manga/comics this week...in my defense though, I haz tax return and other things that ensure me not being broke!

In other news, Tuesday night was rather fucking amazing, especially for a night that originally was just gonna be Drawn Together/Gym based entertainment. I got something I wanted for some time (which wasn't a physical item, but something that was just as awesome as tenn puppies), and there was good news from the Victor/ Sean Ewing front. Both these fellas had kinda a rough start this year, and it's good to see Vic things progessing, and things being an series of awesome events on the Sean front. HUZZAH for good things happening to ppl I li3k, that makes for happy CHris. A Carrie also makes for a happy CHris, but that's common knowledge by now.

Nothing really to talk about in paragraph form, so let me switch it up to bullets!!

-Happy early birthday to Maxwell Kaine.

-mcchris @ NYAF is something I've known about for a while, and am all sorts of excited about. Speaking of mc, the new album (mcchris is dead)drops a week from Tuesday, and there's a release party near AJ's place in Bklyn on May 25th. Anyone game, what with Monday being a holiday? (FTR, the new Disturbed drops a week later).

-Cat, can't reply to ur lj directly due to lame interwebs cock blocking at work, but this is me saying not to cut me or TEE! from ze lj. Actually there were a few of you who were/are doing cuts soonish, so this apply to the likes of you as well.

EDIT: Their was a rant about /cgl/ BAWWing, but I took it out due to potentinal dramoo. That and I doubt the ppl who should take the advice I gave would have not read it in the first place.
-Btw, Musuem things are still a go come Saturday, I know Carrie, John, Mario are definetly game, Sean's still 50/50, and cameos are expected from Ben, Sara and Judy. Sunday is going to be awesome and I am super excited about it. Monday is Iron Man time for TEE!.

I'm drunk too, let's be friends.

I may have just broke Renee with my theory that the dude who plays Noah Bennet on "Heroes" is the same guy who played "Artie, the Strongest Man, In the World." I'm fairly certain I'm wrong about that, but it makes perfect sense if I'm not.

Moving along let me recap this weekend.
Friday sucked the big one, as I spend the ENTIRE night in the house, post taking my mom out for an early Mother's Day dinner. I did end up playing some Mario Galaxy though, as learned that my sister sucks at bouncing around cakes.

Saturday, however was full of win and yay, as Big Poppa Turkey and I headed down to PPB We spent a good 20 or so minutes on ze train throwing it down in the Tin Pin Battle in The World Ends with You, until we met up with el Greg de Dymatrix in Convert Station. From there, we headed down to PPB and met up with a Tee!. Carrie's little bro, StS and Cathy joined us for the 3:30 screening of Speed Racer, which has roughly 20 pp in the theater. So yeah Speed Racer
+Perfect casting
+Awesome visuals
+Maintain the camp and the feeling of the show well.
+SPEED LINES DURING FIGHTS
+ Racer X
- Long movie was longgggggggggggggggggg
- Dialogue was bleh at times, certain scenes weren't needed.
- Not enough Monkey time
+ MONKEY TOSSING POO!

Afterwards we killed some time at Brick Plaza going to Gamestop/ Barnes and Noble/ Best Buy whee I picked up Avatar Book 3, volume 1, which now means I'm all sorts of ready to go for the final volume come July. Eventually we got back to PPB for arcade fun, and learned that
-The Simpsons arcade game is gone. MAN TEARS!
-Cards are now only limited to their respected arcades.
-No more House of the Dead 4. /V/ RAGE!
-SEGA is makes quality light gun games, not related to dead houses, ie Jurassic Park: The Lost World, and Sea Hunter(?).
-The night ended with some BRAWLin and Avatar and super fun day was super fun. Thanks for everyone who came down it was super A+

Sunday was a funday as well, but not as active. Church was had, some small shopping was done, I was suckered into watching most of "P.S I love you" (Way to counter being a man Gerald Bulter!), Tales of the Abyss was played (MIEYU! FIRE!), and eventually, me, Tee!, StS, Cathy, Carrie-mommy and Nana went out for a sea food dinner. The train ride home consisted of reading AH! My Goddess manga, playing TWEwY, and Street Fighter Alpha 3.

This week I need to do more sit up while watching dvds/gym/swimming with Mario, help Senior Ewing track down some moo-nga, and on Caturday, take Carrie fabric shopping for Mi-Mi-Mi-Mi-Mi-Mi-Mi-Mi-Mi-Michuri fabric, and possibly hit up that exhibit @ the Met on Super Heroes and fashion. It's dirt cheap, and has various movie costumes on display, from Linda Carter to RDJ, so if ppl want to tag along, let me know. Mario's it's in ur hood/John's former hood, so mayhaps we should plot according.

Next Sunday is the Jorgan wedding, which I'm super excited for. And NekoCathy/Jen/Nekonipples? CACTUS? NEXT SATURDAY? ALONG WITH SHOTZY AND MS. 21? AND SUM PAT? FUCKIN WIN!!

Banter

You know scratch that title. I was like 3 sentences into that rant and decided it wasn't funny. And when I realize something's not funny, it musn't be funny. So I'll just do a random topic update and hope for the best.

- Mindless Self Indulgendence's "If" dropped last week, which I needed to go buy from the Virgin Mega Store in Time Square b/c the Best Buy across the street from me is fail 75% of the time when it comes to non-huge releases ( Those fuckers still haven't gotten in the Sam and Max Complete Animated Series on DVD yet). The album's a pretty solid "B" effort. It's not as "deep" as "You'll Rebel...." and not as solid/silly as "Frankenstein Girls". It's far from bad though, as "Never Wanted to Dance", "Mastermind", "Issues" and "Get it up", are all good tracks. But yeah, it's been awhile since a band put out a new cd that didn't suck, with the only exception I could think of was Nightwish's "Dark Passion Play" (Libertad was okie, but then again, "Contraband was fucking AMAZING).

- I also picked up the new and previous Avatar DVDs, which has renewed my love for the series. I've yet to watch the 3rd volume, but that's only b/c I want to marathon the lot of it with Carrie, as I did with her for Book 2. Also glad to see that Wang Fire was not a one time joke.

- Weekend plans. Sean Ewing, myself, and Greg (of the Dymatrex variety) are Point Pleasant bound this Saturday, and I think StS and Carrie's sister will be joining us for "Speed Racer", which I've heard mixed things about. That kinda sucks, as Iron Man is HUEG right now, and Speed is probably has the best chance of being the best live action anime movie to be ever released for awhile (LOL Dragonball). Arcade things are planned as well as far as I know, and if ppl want in on these shenanigans, say something and we'll work something out. Sunday will be spent doing church/mother day things.

-I've been having a number of really good conversations with various ppls as of late, that I'm willing to discuss farther with others. Those topics have ranged from:
-Appreciate what you got, there's always someone who has it worse than you.
-Hard work builds character, and StS and I are a couple of characters.
-Fans, in general, get uppity over the stupidiest things.
-Cosplayer logic is retard. As is game logic.
-Minors and young idiots are ruining the anime con scene, but Cosplay Elists and Hollywood are ruining the Comic Book Convetion scene. EVERYTHNG is ruining the Sci-Fi scene, including Sci-Fi itself.

"Always with the fucking mazes....now I know how Lex Luthor feels."

This is probably going to be a huge entry so here's the heads up.

MAY BATTLE PLAN:
May 10th/11th- Point Pleasant Beach based fun. Speed Racer will be seen at the least.
May 17th, the calm before the storm, seeing how the 18th is ZOMG JORGAN WEDDING. Xais and I being true friends, will drink on the behalf on those who cannot drink that day. I don't want to say we're heroes, but I'm fairly certain we are the greatest heroes who ever lived.
May 19th- Sober up, goo see Iron Man with TEE locally.
May 24-26th- 2nd 3 day weekend in a row. No idea what I'm doing memorial day weekend yet. Depends on weather and who's plotting what.
May 31/June 1st- Jen-Con in Pennslyvania. Sorry Krys, I knew you're having ur condo-party tht day, and I would like to go, but I', commited to getting KRUNK with Nekocathy, and if the STP reunion tour didn't make me bail on her, this little shing-dig isn't. Sowwies, some other time, blah blah blah.

STUPID SEXY LOCKON!
-While I'm sticking to 3 costumes for aNEXT as this point (what with awesome BLEACH/Crisis Core/Haruhi groups a-happening), a new entry has been added to Otakon fun. Mario and I (at least I did) knew we were going to deal with Gundam OO sooner or later, what will at the SEED-based fun we had for 2006/2007, so yeah Otakon 2008 is now OOtakon (oppose to last year, which was NOTakon or Faggotakon). I'll he rocking Stupid Sexy Lockon Stratos, the first Irish Gundam pilot to my knowledge and Mario, Carrie, Jae and possibly others will be cosplaying Not Lockon. This is a great plan, and skit free for the near future. HUZZAH!

ALL FEAR THE AMAZING MAZE-O.
-To clear up any rumors, no I am not developing a crime drama set in the 70s starring Dwayne Reed and Ray Mountains, co-starring Chief Iron Baker and Matt Buono. And no, Xais, Ray, and I were NOT plotting how to kill Superman, there is no footage of said disccusion on youtube, and Xais did not creat his new supervillian Alter Ego, The Amazing Maze-O. Lay off the crack.

This was a good weekend!
-Amongst swim swim fun, I picked up Virtua Fighter 5 for the XB360. It's a really solid fighter, and Jackie Bryant (LOL directed at John, Dwayne and Ray) is my weapon of choice as of now.
-New Carrie PSP was got. It is silver and slim. Carrie still has my copy of Crisis Core and my memory stick, but that's fine, seeing how I'm still playing/loving the fuck out of the World Ends with You.
-Free Comic day was kinda a bust, but we did hang out with Erik and Kelly that night in Brooklyn. We played Super Munkin and Simpsons trivia. And played with Grundy, the bestest cat ever. Amazing sex was had add. I was gonna be clever and just hint at it, but fuck that noise, honesty is the best policy.
- Sunday's weather was fuckwin awesome, and the Sakura Matsuri was spiffy. We saw some Nerd Avengers, a Greg, Mario, Anita, Kevin, Crissy, Marv, David, Pepper, Anna, Leo, Joel, Linwood, a Furfag, Xais, Tom, Ray, Flippy, Dwayne Reed, Bunnies J_J and a Mia. And some ppl I really don't know/ probably forgot. Good time was good. Hence the title.

ARGHHH BUSY WEEK IS BUSY AND NEW AVATAR EPISODES DROP ON DVD TOMORROW, DO WANT, DO WANT!!!!

Here's comes CHris Troy updating his lj, but he's really not CHris Troy it's IRON MAN, IRON MAN!

So yeah, thanks to Ms. DJ OMG JUDY the Booty, NAILZ, I had me some Iron Man last night. Here's my feelings towards it.
-Fantastic. Probably the best mainstream comic film I've seen since "Batman Begins"
-The Ghostface Killa "Tony Stark meets Tony Stark" scene was cut out. DVD only. Dag.
-Only the theatre cut, not the press-screening cut gets the hidden ending. Something about some black guy with an eye patch and some sort of Avenging Initative.
-Best Stan Lee cameo to date.
-Laid the groundwork for sequels nicely. Also LOL ending was full of LOL.

So yeah, the movie isn't groundbreaking, but it's a shitton of fun, and I can enjoy it. There's a lot of fanservice/easter eggs, and overall it was an enjoyable film. It also made me drink something fierce. Silly Alcoholic super hero.

In other news, yea, still can't reply to ppl's post/replies on the el jay from work. Shit sucks, but at least it's not a totall LJ ban, like when we lost coscom last year. I blame this scneario entirely on Renee, seeing how Anna was to blame for me losing coscom access at work. DAMMIT GIRLS, THIS IS WHY WE CAN'T HAVE NICE THING!!

It is now weekend/con layout time. Discussions a go-go:

THIS WEEKEND
Tonight-GYM
Tomorrow-Swim Swim, envitable Gundam 00 cosplay discussion with Mario.
Saturday- Free Comics Book day, new PSP day for Carrie, and probably NOT going to the SM for Katie and Kelly aren't coming down at all. FOO!
Sunday- Sakura Matsuri day fer sure.

AnimeNEXT:
Room layout
Team El Moutain de Tee!
Me/Carrie (Bed)
Mr. Mountain/Flippy (Bed)
Xais/Dillion (aka the boy)-Floor Heroes

Team Shotzy!
Shotzy/Ms. 21 (Bed)
Mike, Mark, Tom, Kaine- You bitches figure it out, and remember, Shotzy's word is law, if he demands you sleep in the toilet, so be it.

Costume planning- Kyon (MoHS), Zack (FF7:CC), Bankai Ichigo (BLEACH)

Otakon:
Ppl confirmed for rooms:
Ray/Flippy, Lappy, Ray's 2 friends, Mystery person who's I'm not allowed to announce, Byron, Tom, Jae, Xais, Meg, Me and Tee. 6 in one room, 7 in other, we'll deal with this as it gets closer.

That's all I got. May have a comission question tomorrow though. We shall see.

EDIT: Wait, I'm a liar. Props to Mr Sean "Front page stories by me one, front page stories by AJ, zero" Ewing for....a front page story (w00t) and b/c I wants to haz meme too:
Tell me two things you think I should cosplay: One you think I would really like, and one you think I might never consider in a million years but might be suited for!

Chris Troy: Confirmed for Alive.

Been a while El jay...but yea, my life, let me recap it for you...

PROMOTION- None at all unforunately. Kinda sucked, but I'll deal. Long story short-not this time, but try again next time, blah, blah. Why I'm dissapointed, it's not B'AWWWWWW worthy. I'll deal and try again next time. Side in the span of the year and three months I've been hear, I've been promoted once already, and got a raise like 3 times. Kinda hard to complain about that.

HONEYMOON- Yea, a little less than a year away, but that's been booked, so that's awesome. Cruise 2 days after the wedding down by Key West and that area, it is sweet, and also tight.

No More Heroes/The World Ends with You- Are the 2 games I've been playing the most as of late. I'm really like both, but neither are without their share of faults. However, overall, I got to say that TWEwY is probably the better of the 2, and is the best game none of you are playing what with Kart and GTA things becoming avail. More on M Kart later.

The Sickness-Too FUBAR to come into work last Friday, so the day was spent at home sleeping in, playing more NMH and FINALLY finishing Getter Robo: Armageddon. Final review-Fucking win and awesome. TTGL borrows heavily from this series, and it sucks that it's out of print, because it's one of the best series ever to drop. Now to await said TTGL box sets to drop, as I need a slight break from the giant robotos for a while.

Aside from catching up on some reading of the comic variety (Scott Pilgrim v. 1, JLA: World War 3, and Kirby's 4th World Omnibus), TEE and I did 2 mini-double dates with AJ and Squish-head in the city, both revolving around food. Fun time were had, esp. with being able to hit up Nintendo World on Saturday to plat some Mario Kart Wii while the girls got nintendo shirts (Maryann got a Bullet Bill shirt, while Carrie got her Skitty tee). I'll probably pick up Kart sometime this month, but there's other games I need to beeat first and what not. That and it's not the best Kart title to date. Stupid sexy DS.

Video Game Live- The inital crew was myself, Tee, Police Chief Iron Baker, Hot Shot detective Dwayne Reed, AJ, Squish, and co, but there was sum twinnies, a Nick, a Renee, Tina, Anna and Leo in attendance as well. Fucking win concert was win, as music from Metal Gear, Metroid, Mario, Sonic, Civ 4, Warcraft, FF, Castlevania, Zelda and God of War, as well as stuff I left out was played as well. Fucking epic.

Sunday was full of cake and Tales of Abyss. Carrie and I will be cosplaying Guy and Luke. Well not really. Although that would be lolz.

Anywho, busy week is busy!

Today- NOTHING THAT GOD
Tomorrow- Sidequest.
Wednesday- Secret Iron Things.
Thursday- Gym
Friday- Swim
Saturday- TBD
Sunday- Sakura Matsuri.

Fucking busy-ass CHris is busy ass. Not to worry, I believe in the me who believes in the me (Or I believe in the TEE! who believes in me)

NYCC Recap post-dealy

Bappy Hirthday Rymel, Ryoko and Merkurrie. And yes, I'm quite aware of what I've typed. "Bappy" is an awesome word.

So yeah, this is the part where I talk about comics and junk. You've had your warning people, nerd stuff begins now.

I usually wouldn't bring up the "I picked up my badge on Thursday" story unless it was @ Otakon/AX, but seeing how it lead into running into Peter which meant running into Summer Mullin which lead into T.M. Revolution. Tiny J-pop star is tiny.

Friday
-Left said place of employment with Anna, Renee and StS. After 1000000 phone calls, we made it the Javitis, where after saying a few "Hola gringos" and such, it lead to StS and I going into the Dealer's room. Money and I departed real quick. Here's the breakdown

-$13 on "Soldier 1st Class" Keyring.
-$7 on a Chocobo Phone Charm for Carrie. SQUARE ENIX SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO SELL THINGS AT CONVENTIONS, ESPECIALLY THINGS I LI3K!!
-$4 on a Torchwood access/ID pass. Because I am a huge fucking nerd. And it was Jack's for the record.
-$30 Bucks on a X-men/New X-men/Uncanny X-men/Astonishing X-men/X-Factor/ Cable & Deadpool print signed by Mark Brooks (Cable/Deadpool, New X-Men). #118 out of 250. Not too shabby. Needs to be framed.
-$18 on a Kyle Rayner Green Latern t-shirt, which is something I've wanted since I was 14. My inner-child is pleased.

This was Friday alone ppl. We attempted to make dinner plans, but that fell through due to "LET'S STAND HERE AND TALK AND NOT GET DINNER" action. Me, StS, The E-man, Kelly and Linwood are ppl of action, so we picked up a Carrie and headed back to Brooklyn. I ended up getting "food" @ a local 7-11, as we headed back to StS' to watch Dr. Who. This was awesome.

Saturday
After banking fun, TEE! and I headed over to NYCC, with said StS where we threw on our Penn Arcade costumes. We found Marv and Crissy, and our little fantastic four was complete. The costumes went over real well (Carrie has some photos in her photobucket, for she is photo-kitty), and I'm fairly certain this was the first time the boys' costumes got more attention then the ladies, which I chalk up to LOL COMICS. Anywho much running around, much cameos and apperance, including cake and mudkips thanks to Anna of the Chibiko variety. At some point, I realized I was missing Grant Morrision type things, which lead me to see HUEG, LIKE XBAWK, line for the following Avatar panel. I could have been a huge douche and snuck into said Morrision panel w/o Carrie, which would have allowed for primo seating, but that would end with my testicles getting torn out. Instead, finding Amanda and Tina aka Blackmarth, we just jumped the line. But Carrie and I did it as a couple so it was fine. Also, I had a professional badge, so it was good and legal. I think. Anywho, epic Avatar panel was epic, and bricks were shat. Post-panel, there was no way we were gettin into the Venture panel, so we killed sometime until it was my panel, thanks to Ray's discovery of those awesome Shin-chan signs Funimation was giving away. I also gave Ambrosia/Kry/Ryoko the jam comic Renee and I worked one for her @ work. Super rare stuff right there.

My panel was fine, a little advanced, and I was pretty useless for that first 30 minutes. After all, I don't sew, being a man and such (OOOOOOOOHHHHHH SEXIST COMMENT). The whole lot of us (Carrie, Ray, Flippy, Dwayne,StS, Kaine, Eric and Kelly) went over to the tick-toc diner (where Jorgan, Jesse and John were at) and had diner, which was fine. We came back to the con a little after 9ish, caught the TMR concert and rocked out according up front, thanks to AWESOME BADGE POWERS! Then it was drinking at Stark Tower with the Nerd Avengers and others, where severe LOLs where had.

I wouldn't mention Sunday, if not kicking it Mario and co. occurred, suprise mcchris concert/signing, lunch with Mario and Dwanye Reed, and a trip to Hanley's which ends in Jack Kirby's 4th World Omnibus being picked up. It was yummy.

Shout out list time is now! Props to:
_corruption_,alexabexis, amande_san, animalboything, animeangel, animeangelblue, blackmarth, chibiko721, dressdragn, flippy_chan, furiousmice, gaijinotaku, hatefulsarang, hystericraider, inbredchocobo, jerahlong, kaine_maxwell, koyasunomiko, mastermind2032, minuberry, morganwolf, neo2469, rare_dreamer, rathshakar, rhi_chan,
roserevolution, rymel, ryoko, s0nified, samuraizer0, silverphoenix, soullesscyn, sunseenli, suzaku_seishi, theanimefanboy, thebroodwich, thedreamerworld, umister, vampricyoda, vash817, wildhorseranma, yuffiebunny, zacku and of course, Carrie and her brand new Chicobo.
